1940's Antique Lcn Heavy Cast Iron

LCN Heavy Cast Iron 2 Speed Antique Door Closer SOLD AS IS - I could not get closure to open or close by hand. I'm thinking it needs to be taken apart and rebuilt. This is a cast iron door closer from LCN. The look and feel of this heavy sucker makes me think it is from the 1930s or 1940s. In fact, the patent number shown on this was granted on 1930-04-08 and expired on 1947-04-08, so that should give a time period when this was in use somewhere in the world. It comes as shown, untested and with no hardware or anything else. See pictures for details.
